  • OSM at the 2011 World Championships of Surf Kayaking

Dear Retailers and OSM fans, We wanted to take this opportunity to share a photo journal and some notes about a recent event where OSM played a very large role.  If you were not aware, the East Coast of the United States, more specifically the Outer Banks of North Carolina was the location of the Valley Kayaks Presents: 2011 World Championships of Surf Kayaking.  A beautiful venue, Jennette's Pier in Nags Head, hosted 100 of the world's premiere surf kayakers from nations such as Australia, Japan, England, Portugal, Basque Country, Northern Ireland, Jersey, Canada, Argentina, Italy and more. So where does OSM ...

We were pleased this morning to see such familiar faces on the cover of the November 2011 issue of Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine.  Our Thermarest Neo Air sleeping pad, MSR Carbon Reflex 3 tent and MSR MicroRocket stove all found a place in a list of top-40 Gear Innovations.

This marks the fifth OSM Invitational over the past fifteen years, bringing the most premiere outdoor retailers, product designers, sales representatives and gear manufacturers together in one place.  The purpose is to further ourselves as representatives of the outdoor market.  Moreover, this event gets us out of the office and into the environment that brought us to the industry we know and love.  The OSM invitational is a true networking, learning and inspiring opportunity for those who work in the Outdoor Industry, and a celebration of playing outside.  Thanks to everyone who was involved with the event in North Carolina's ...

  • Photos on the Trail – OSM Invitational 2011

The hiking trail is where OSM truly has you covered from head to toe.  Special thanks go out to our incredible vendors who supported us on the trail at this year's invitational; Vasque, SmartWool, Cascade Designs, Osprey, prAna and Chaco, all essential to our outdoor journeys. Not only did we have some incredible trail hikes throughout Pisgah Forest, but we also had some really fun geo caching going on around camp for those who were interested in a shorter, more calculated walk.  Huge thanks are in order to National Geographic and Magellan for ...

  • Photos on the River – OSM Invitational 2011

Paddling was our most popular activity at this year's event.  Headwaters Outfitters in Rosman NC shuttled us to a couple of the most beautiful class I-II sections of the French Broad River.  The blazing colors of the Fall foliage added the already beautiful riverbed with it's many twists and turns, wildlife sightings and long range views.  Thanks to Tony Turner and Steve Augustine for providing Confluence brand boats for everyone and to Chad Baird for the fleet of Naish SUPs. More photos of the river trips at our event are available at the OSM Facebook page.  Please ...
